3/21/2024 0 Comments Poser 8 free download full versionIt isn't like this decision was made by stupid people for stupid reasons, despite what so many opine. There is signficant benefit to the technology chosen. It also remembers what you're interested in, and will do more to become adaptive to your habits in the future. The old library easily died with 500 GB in runtimes, this one can handle that even in a single runtime, and doesn't make you wait for it to catch up. It is massively mutli-threaded and can do extensive work in the background, unlike the old library module. It is a complete rewrite of how the library works. Yes the new Library/Search/Favorites GUI is written in Flex which requires Flash. I know figuring stuff out can be fun, knocking around in HOSTS files shouldn't be a requirement to getting a software package to work in my book. PS: Does anyone sell software that actually works? Poser 4 ProPack was the last solid version of Poser I remember. Guess I will turn the computer off and go for a walk outside ) I didn't like version 7 and was always a little sorry I spent the loot for that. Just don't feel like going through all that again with a new version. I did go along with a number of earlier versions of Poser and found it entertaining enough. Not all that interested in beta testing their software anyway. If Smith Micro had tied Poser 8 to Adobe Flash I will pass on the upgrade. I know I miss a lot of content on the Web but I don't miss the comercials and don't miss being tracked. I do have version 9 now and disable the browser plugin as often as not. Further reading about Adobe Flash makes me want to avoid the software altogether. I do remember Flash annoyed the hell out of me. I gave the machine away - Poser 6 crashed constantly and I, frankly, gave up on it - and I never really figured out all the ins and outs of the OS. I actually picked up a newer machine running Vista and in the version of Flash running on that machine (10 I think) I couldn't find the options to turn off the automatic updates or stop it from running at startup. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If you also have Firefox, try using that to check the File when Poser is running. Viewing this in your Browser may reveal the problem. LSMGUI.html will display the Library as a standalone (but Poser must be running). Launch Poser and double click the LSMGUI.html file and launch it in your browser. In that folder is LSMGUI.html and LSMGUI.swf, the two pieces that make up the Library GUI. It should match the main runtime installation location. The contents should be a variant of this: Launch Poser.Īlso, verify that the LSMGUI/bin-release folder is listed as a trusted Flash application folder. In Hosts, using Notepad, look for the following entry To verify that all items were installed correctly, check the following Folderįor the Hosts File. Vista you should not run the program as the Admin, but from your user account that may have Admin Rights.) Remember to Reboot your system after you make any changes to your Firewall, Security Software or User Accounts access. (This can be an issue even if you are the only user on some systems. Installation should be as Administrator for all aspects (Poser and Flash) when using Vista and all Users should have access to the programs and the Runtimes. The other issue encountered is one of Permissions for Folder Access. If that does not resolve the issue, check your Firewall/Security Programs to make sure you are not blocking Poser.exe or 127.0.0.1 Launch Poser after rebooting and see if the issue remains. Then go to the Adobe Flash Web Site and use the Flash Uninstall and then use the Flash Install download files. Set your Browser to Medium or Medium High Default Security Setting. The following has resolved this issue when encountered with over 90% of those reporting the issue.įirst off, make sure your Operating System and your IE Browser are up to date, using Windows Updater.
